EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The aim of this course is to give you the technical and practical skills needed to provide support in the testing of electrical equipment.

This course is intended to help you prepare and progress to employment of more than 16 hrs per week in a wide variety of jobs that are constantly being advertised for the Local Employment Partnerships

On successful completion of this course you will have the necessary skills to find employment as a Support Technician, testing electrical equipment for safety. Work is available in Schools, Further and Higher Education, Health, Social Services and the Public Sector in general. Many large private employers require Technicians with these skills and self-employment is also an option.

THE COURSE
The programme will provide both the theory and practical skills to enable personnel to provide support to a wide range of employers and customers in a variety of environments. Whilst the main object of the course is to provide for the requirements of the practical operative, the needs of managers and administrators can also be catered for once again there are opportunities for self-employment.

COURSE LENGTH

The length of the course is flexible, up to a total of 6 weeks, which could include a period of work placement and holidays.

QUALIFICATION(S)
  • City & Guilds 2377-200: Certificate of Competence for the In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.
    (This is the qualification for the practical inspector and tester)
  • City & Guilds 2377-100: Certificate of Competent Management of Electrical Equipment Maintenance.
    (This is the qualification for managers and administrators)
