The Employment Development Section
at Finchale consists of a team of employment professionals with many years of practical experience in assisting disabled and disadvantaged people to find work. When you come to Finchale you will be introduced to a member of the Team, whose role is to assist you to improve your employability skills and find work. The Employment Development Officers will spend time with you, helping to develop your job finding skills and liaise with local, regional and national employers to help you to find work placement and employment opportunities. The Team works closely with employers as well as your Disability Employment Adviser to ensure that, wherever possible, the best employment solution for you is found. Some organisations come back to us time and time again when looking to fill vacancies. Well over 50% of our trainees went into full-time permanent employment following one of our programmes last year.
How employers benefit
Our National Work Placement scheme enables employers to add a highly skilled, motivated individual to their existing workforce. The length of the placement is determined by each individual course. The placements range from 4 to 10 weeks and the scheme is entirely free of charge to employers.
How trainees benefit
A work placement offers you the opportunity to prove your professional skills and abilities. We find employers are impressed by the contribution our trainees make to their businesses. Former trainees have proved themselves to be invaluable in the workplace and many placements subsequently result in full-time employment. In addition, workplace experience can help trainees to produce a robust CV when applying for work.
