Finchale Training College is a partner in the CETT for Inclusive Learning led by Northumbria University. The aim of the CETT is to promote inclusive learning for learners with learning difficulties and disabilities by sharing good practice with other CETT members in the region

We welcome to the College professionals from the Constituent Organisations who wish to observe the ways in which we address the individual needs of disabled learners with complex and multiple barriers to learning.

In addition to advice and support for other organisations, placements, supported by qualified mentors, can be provided at the College for professionals who are interested in developing their knowledge and practice of the following:
  • Multi-disciplinary focussed vocational rehabilitation that addresses the emotional, medical, social, personal, functional and occupational needs of individuals.
  • Learning and teaching strategies in relation to mental health, physical, health, communication (Autistic Spectrum Disorders and Dyslexia) and other disability-related barriers.
  • Assessment, planning and review of learner progress.
  • Embedding of Skills for Life into customised learning programmes.
  • Resources and strategies to promote inclusive learning for disabled adults
  • Vocational resettlement programmes for disabled ex-offenders
Residential accommodation can also be made available for those who cannot commute daily to the College.
