You will learn the functions of hardware and software including: Identification of major desktop components and interfaces.  Names, locations, purposes, and contents of major system files.  Command-line functions and utilities to manage the operating system.  Basic concepts and procedures for creating, viewing, and managing disks,directories and files.  Operating system utilities, their purpose and location and Operating system installation procedures.

The course is divided into two main areas of learning pertaining to hardware and operating systems.

Length
The length of the course is up to a total of 36 weeks, which includes a period of work placement and holidays.
